Thankyou arrives at Baby Bunting
We are excited to announce that Thankyou baby products have arrived at Baby Bunting. But these are baby products with a twist: Thankyou’s range of baby body care, disposable and modern cloth reusable nappies will fund child and maternal health programs.
100 per cent of Thankyou’s profits go to funding infant and maternal health projects, which will help address a crisis where every 90 seconds a mother dies in childbirth and 3.9 million babies die within a month of being born.
Speaking to the Sydney Morning Herald, Daniel Flynn – one of Thankyou’s co-founders – said that this was an issue close to his heart after having his first child last year.
"I feel as a young parent there is such a deep connection," Daniel said. "Every time you change a nappy you could be helping save another baby's life. It's a pretty powerful thought".
As with the rest of Thankyou’s products, a lot of considered thought has gone into the development of this new range.
"We've developed something that is more absorbent and better functioning than what is on the market and then we've innovated like others haven't and we have lined it with vitamin E and aloe vera.”
Indeed, the design-led range – developed by Thankyou’s innovation team, parents and specialist GP, Dr. Ginni Mansberg – is the first on the Australian market to feature monochrome prints and to be lined with aloe vera and vitamin E, while the baby care range is dermatologically tested, pH balanced and free from nasties like SLS, SLES, EDTA and parabens.
Flynn said that his nappy-changing experiences have made him realise that, in the nappy business, there's room for improvement.
“Right now, every 103 seconds a mother dies in pregnancy and childbirth, and globally 2.7 million babies don’t reach their first month of life because they don’t have access to basic health care,” he said to Smart Company.
“At Thankyou we believe it’s possible to lower that statistic and quite literally save the lives of mothers and babies through this range.”
Justine Flynn, another co-founder of Thankyou, says told Huffington Post that families who buy Thankyou’s products can track exactly where the proceeds of an individual product goes using Thankyou's impact system.
"Every product has a unique code, and this can be used to track your product's impact," Justine said.
"You can put your code in and our impact tracker will show you what project it has been assigned to fund, what the problem was and what we believe the solution is. It will even show you GPS coordinates.”
"If you go one step further and enter in details such as your email address, it will actually come back to you with a report afterwards telling you how the project went. Sometimes it could take up to a year or a year and a half.”
