Wouldn't buy again
There are 5 major design faults that would stop me buying again (bought OBH950 nursery pal glo+ with a second additional camera): 1. The camera lenses are way to narrow. We have ours positioned 6 feet above the cot mattress and it still doesn't get the whole cot (standard size) in the frame. The video quality is also not great so zooming is totally pointless. 2. The monitor can't monitor noises from more than one camera at a time. Our previous much cheaper unit could have noise from one camera playing over the monitor, and if noise on the other camera reached a certain level, it could switch to audio from that camera. This oricom one won't switch audio regardless of how loud it was. 3. The app doesn't let you stream video or audio from more than one cam at a time, without paying for a subscription. Quite a lot of other features are hidden behind the paywall as well but that's the most annoying one. 4. The amount of buttons you have to press on the monitor to change from one camera view, to multiple camera view is crazy. It's something like 7 key presses and the buttons are very clucky (ie extremely loud at night). 5. The cams don't come with any mount. They have a standard camera mount screw that fits on most tripods easy, but they don't come with any other mounting option. Not a huge deal but it was harder to mount than I expected. The good parts: 1. Replaceable battery - Fantastic to have, no soldering or popping clips, just push the tab and pop the battery out - Our 2 previous baby monitors batteries have died and finding exact replacements is very difficult. 2. Camera mics - The mics in the cams are excellent. They can be set to super sensitive, to the point you can hear someone moving their hands along the floor from a cam 7 feet above the floor. Every noise from a baby can be heard easily. 3. Seems durable - The cams and monitor seem sturdy and durable. I think the monitor will survive a lot of drops without breaking. 4. Oricom should be reliable with the software and connection, and the streams use a good encryption standard. I trust oricom a lot more than various overseas companies where data can get routed through Chinese servers or wherever. 5. 3 year warranty is great. Our previous baby monitors had 1 and 2 year warranties, and both went wrong within 3 years. If anything goes wrong I'm sure warranty will be smooth, and oricom seems to have actual replacement parts available. Overall, if the monitor could monitor sound from more than one cam at once, I'd be happy. But as a multi-cam product that can only monitor audio from one cam at once, it's not good enough. Would not buy enough. Would not recommend for a multi-cam setup or even for single cam if you need to put your cam close.
