We appreciate the Nanit breathing band because it provides an extra peace of mind for parents and caregivers by monitoring our baby’s breathing motion without attached wires, sensors or electronics directly on the baby. The soft cotton material quality is comfortable, easy to use over pajamas, washed easily and integrates seamlessly with the Nanit Pro camera system. This makes nighttime and daytime monitoring feel less stressful for both new and experienced parents. A major advantage is that it will alert caregivers through the app if breathing motion is not detected, helping many families sleep more confidently with a piece of mind. The tech is very good and light. The Nanit breathing band only works with Nanit cameras and may occasionally lose tracking if the baby rolls or if the band shifts during sleep. The breathing band sizing can be inconsistent and that the system works best with proper camera placement and lighting and also is dependent on this size of your baby. Overall, the Nanit breathing band is widely viewed as a helpful and reassuring addition for parents who already use the Nanit ecosystem and want a non-invasive breathing monitoring option for their baby. Additionally, it’s not a one-size fits all but your baby may or may not like the band too so it depends. I have tried the breathing band over a swaddle too without making it too tight but just right to make it be able to monitor. Again, I don’t use it every day but a few times per month; I also purchased two for one being used while the other one is being washed. Overall, the rating is 4 of 5 stars and recommended if you have Nanit.

My baby likes to pretend he does not know how to roll from back to stomach. Except right as he’s falling asleep of course. He is so still that I end up having a complete panic attack. Enter: breathing band. It literally just goes around his chest and I press go. Goodbye panic attack. I no longer feel the uncontrollable urge to go flip him over and listen to his breathing. We were so happy to see that Nanit has the breathing band in bigger sizes for our growing girl. She made the transition to sleeping in her own nursery around 6 months and having the breathing band has helped us sleep easy knowing we have an alert for any scary situation.

I’m not impressed with this technology at all. My baby is 6 months old and has started moving a lot more in her sleep. This means sometimes she rolls onto her side which causes her arm to cover part of the breathing band. When that happens (even just a small portion of it), her breathing is no longer monitored. This is annoying because all babies move in their sleep so this complete defeats the purpose of using this monitoring tool. I understand why people use an Owlet instead.

Great option for a baby monitor that tracks sleep patterns and breathing.
